Friday, September 6: A story about a time you were very afraid.

Now that I work from home, I expect to be alone all day. Andy goes to work around 7:30 and comes home anywhere from 5:00 - 8:00, depending on his workload. So I naturally expect to be the only one in the house from at least 8 to 5.

Two weeks ago Andy decided to stop home between meetings and not let me know first. I was working in the office on the other side of the house when I heard the side door slam. I nearly jumped out of my skin and my heart stopped. I heard footsteps and all I could think about was "INTRUDER" but me being me, I just sat completely still. Then Andy appeared in my doorway and I lost my shit. Lots of yelling occurred. He didn't know that "he needed permission to come into his own house". Well when I expect to be home all day alone, at least give me a heads up, dude.

Part of the reason I was so flipped out was that a few years ago, right before we moved into our house, a couple was home during the day and because most people are at work all day, a burglar/crazy person decided to strike their home not expecting anyone to be home. He zip tied them together in the bathroom and shut the door, proceeding then to steal all of their possessions. They weren't found for DAYS, but thankfully they were alive.

So that was the last time I was very, very afraid. And now Andy does need permission to come home during the day.

Oh goodness! This is my biggest fear especially with Kyle being gone a lot.

I would've DIED. Even when I know James is coming home, I still get scared when I hear the door open. I can't help it.

Wow I can definitely understand how that would have been frightening - especially when you weren't expecting it!

UM last weekend, I was at the boy's apartment and he was staying at a friend's house. I'm up, showering, getting dressed, whatever. And he freaking SNEAKS into the house, comes up BEHIND me, and grabs me. It was TERRIFYING. AWFUL.

And yes, let's do the concert date next month. It means we have to get together!
