The past week I took a little breather from Operation Skinny Jeans. I was super busy with work and then I wasn’t feeling 100% the latter part of the week. So I took a few days off from tracking calories, worrying about what the scale would read, and just focused on what would make me feel better/not crazy. It involved a couple of my favorite smoothies, a rather healthy sandwich from a cute cafĂ© and bakery by my house, and indulging in some candy eating at work yesterday afternoon.
I think dieting can become a sort of obsession. You are so focused on counting calories and losing weight that you can’t focus on anything else. In my life, I have a lot of other things to focus on. School, work, my family, friends, the Bung, los petite chats, etc.
So this week, my goal is to obsess less, and live a little more. Sometimes you need a cupcake, and you should let yourself have it.

Dieting & counting cals can definitely easily become an obsession. It's so easy to get wrapped up in that world and never allow yourself a treat or a beer.
Agreed! I worked out 4 nights last week. I was exhausted! So like you I didn't workout over the weekend and last night went to bed at 8. I say if your body tells you different than act in it. If you don't then we lose interest.
good for you! You've been a machine with the healthy eating, so you deserve to give yourself a little break :)
It definitely can become an obsession that takes over, though. Yikes. I remember when I did Weight Watchers, I started seeing everything in "points" rather than as actual food.
I agree!! And I kind of think that if you obsess about calories and stuff too much, your body kind of shuts down.
Plus I read once that having a day every once in a while to rev up your metabolism to have a few more calories. It kind of keeps your metabolism from getting into a starvation rut.
Sometimes I need beer and I will have 7.
But I agree with you! It does get obsessive.
Good for you! I find the same thing - it's so easy to become obsessed with it, but it's good to take a break and relax once in awhile.
I agree! It's all about finding balance and serenity along with healthy eating, in my opinion. And once in a while eating a whole Frosty from Wendy's. Nom.
We're all here with you girl! Keep on truckin'!
