I’ve learned recently that breakfast is super important. But, I like to make sure I spend every last second I can in bed before heading to work. That makes making breakfast a little problematic.
Enter the liquid breakfast! (No, it doesn’t involve alcohol, although I wish it did)
1. First I chug a glass of the orange flavor of Metamucil. That junk expands in your stomach making you feel fuller. It doesn’t taste the best, but it gets the job done. And fiber is important for weight loss.
2. I use my BlenderBottle Sport (in lime green, of course) for my shakes. It has that cute little wire ball that breaks up all the chunks.
3. Then I load that sucker up with Jay Robb’s 100% Whey protein powder. It’s the first non-chalky protein powder I’ve found. And it’s made without the synthetic hormones that are found in most protein powders. I mix mine with water, it tastes a lot smoother with milk but I don’t like the extra calories.
4. Feel like getting fancy? I throw some PB2 in and give it a good shake. It tastes just like regular peanut butter, but with only 45 calories and 1.5g of fat. Now drink your shake that tastes like a Reeses peanut butter cup. I usually suck my down during my commute.
5. Once I get to work, I become an British lady and have “tea time”. Tea is full of antioxidants, and more importantly, black tea has CAFFIENE. I start with a Tazo Awake blend and then follow that with Earl Grey. If I’m really dragging, I’ll have another Awake after that.
And there you have it! A liquid breakfast that gives you a kick start to your day. The Metamucil + the shake lasts me from about 7:45 to 10:30 AM before I get hungry again. That’s pretty darn good for a liquid breakfast.
What is your breakfast routine?

I found a recipe on Pinterst for an iced coffee protein shake that I'm going to try this weekend for breakfast! Yum!
I've recently jumped on the smooth band wagon, thanks to being gifted a magic bullet at a shower.
Water, frozen raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, peaches, spinach, and a scoop of vanilla protein powder.
I wish I could find frozen pineapple, but no luck yet!
We have a keurig in the office so I have a coffee after I finish my smoothie, with some milk add. I've been able to cut out adding sugar which is awesome!
I'm happy to report that I haven't drank an Amp for my "breakfast" in over two weeks.
Instead, I've been drinking lots of water (I like coffee, hate to make it. I don't like tea - sorry Jes) and I eat oatmeal for breakfast.
Smoothies are next. I just found some great recipes.
I usually grab a bottle of Naked juice. Those fill me up! I don't give myself enough time to make a shake... But I always bring a grapefruit or orange to work. I'm trying to fit in as much fruit in my diet as I can!

I usually wait till 8am to eat breakfast, I get to work at 6am, I try to chew gum until 8 rolls around, makes me stomach think I'm eating. I find that if I eat at 6am then I'm hungry around 9am, and that's just another meal I don't really need. I usually have cereal, exciting I know. Although today is toast with avocado, yum!
ONE cup of coffee with chocolate almond milk, diety oatmeal with fresh blueberries, and then a shitload of water.
But I like this idea.
i just recently started making smoothies for breakfast.
one banana + one cup of chocolate almond milk + one tablespoon of peanut butter (and ice) on mornings that i work out. frozen blueberries and raspberries with either non fat yogurt or a cup of skim milk on the other days. love them!
I need this PB2 stuff in my life. I have never seen it before. Is it at a regular grocery store???? You soooooo healthy!
