For our living room "re-do" my main goal was to de-beige. Everything in our house is beige. Minus the horrible red dining room (now gray). It was like they got some awesome deal on beige paint and then did the entire house. Including the exterior. So room by room, we are de-beige-ing it.
Andy and I have a hard time agreeing on colors. I am all about the bright and bold colors, he likes more earth tones. Really, if he had his way, our entire house would be black, white, and stainless steel. BORING. So after many months of deliberation, we finally settled on green. We're doing this on a budget so having it work with our existing furniture and some of our existing decor was important. It also looks good with our white oak floors and white baseboards.
So in the next week, all the decor will be up, and then you will get your grand reveal.
P.S. I get free reign in the nap room and the office. Who's excited to see what nonsense I come up with? I am! Andy's scared.

I'm with you, bright colors are fun, but my husband thinks brown is the only way to go. I got the rights to pick the color in a guest room and it took everything in me just to convince him to paint it grey instead of brown (like the rest of the house..)!
I love a good statement mirror. That's all I kept talking about when Chris and I were moving in. Then, we go pick one out and he asks the woman at the register if she thinks the mirror we picked "makes a statement" ...I about died.
I love a good mirror, we have one for our living room (but can't put it up because in this house because the room is so awkward). I can't wait to move again and decorate any way I want! :)
NOT 27 more days until i'm in that nap room! 27 + a couple. BUT STILL. i can't wait to see all of it in its glory.
Green is a great compromise. I can't wait to see it!
It's gonna look GOOOOOOOD! :) Can't wait for the big reveal! FUN FUN!!!
I am! ;) I have an urge to redo my house so... until I do, I will live a redo through you.
When we bought our house, all the walls were this horrid color I like to call hospital pink. You know, the color of barf buckets at the hospital. I've got one ceiling and one very small bathroom to go, and then I'll never have to be reminded of barfing in the hospital while in my house ever again.
I can't wait to see how it turns out!

I guess at least you get the two rooms - Tyler has opinions about every dang single decor thing I try to bring home, and 100% of those opinions are not constructive, he just "doesn't like it"...sigh.
Living room should be awesome in color combination. Living room decoration is not so easy but it is very difficult to choose items for living room like lamp, vases, mirror etc.
