A Weekend in Kansas City

Over the weekend Sir Andrew Bill and I went down to Kansas City, MO to visit some friends and go on the Boulevard Brewery tour. Enjoy the Instagram dump below.

Middle of nowhere Iowa on the way there | Our view from the hotel room in County Club Plaza
Jackie's English Bulldog, Bella | My first oyster and I loved it
Salted pretzel ice cream, it was like I had died and gone to heaven | Union Station in downtown KC
Lunch at Jack Stack BBQ | Boulevard Brewing Company
Beer making at work | Casks of their Smokestack series
It really is beloved | Obsessed with this floor, they are 4 inch thick pieces of reclaimed pine
Sampling some beers | The windows outside of an Indian restaurant, you know I had to take a picture
The most amazing food ever at Port Fonda, including fresh pork rinds | Everywhere I go, I'm Moscow Muling it
Heading out of KC | Bridge over the Missouri River

We had an amazing time, and are making plans to go back soon. I need to save up so I can spend all my money at the Plaza. I managed to walk away with only a pair of sunglasses this trip.

What did you do this weekend?

What the eff kind of sandwich is that from Port Fonda? I need that. Think they'd deliver to NY?

I hate you for not having a hangover. But honestly, my period did me wrong on Sunday, not the Bud Lights I drank. That bitch...

Sounds like an awesome trip!! I need to have a Moscow Mule. We had something similar to that on our honeymoon and my husband has been dying for one ever since.

I need a nap after seeing all this.. And nap would consist of snuggling with Bella

This is one of those places where I think I'd like to really go to, but then people tell me their crime rate is insane and you might get shot... so then I think, really? With my luck I would be that person gunned down in front of a park or something. So then I retreat back to my little ghetto where I monitor sex offender movements like a totally rational person.

Come back to the Midwest and visit! I'm sure we'd have a great time :)

I didn't feel unsafe at any point during the trip. Probably because Omaha has the highest crime rate per capita in North Omaha and I'm just used to it.

She was such a sweetheart. Beautiful brindle coat too.

Jestina is supposed to be researching where we can find them in Portland.

It was the most amazing thing ever. They asked me if I wanted two flavors and I was like nope, all salted pretzel.

Ugh - I love going down to KC for a weekend! So jealous! And the Plaza's my favorite - I could also (happily and easily) spend all of my money there! Good for you for only buying sunglasses :)

Looks like a fun trip!

Looks like a blast! My husband was just in KC on business and said the BBQ was phenomenal! I still need to try one of these Moscow Mules...

I had to control myself. I'm saving my money up for a fall trip so I can spend some serious cash.

Ugh. Thinking about it right now is making me hungry. And it's only 8:15.
